Saturday, 11th November 2017, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., Old city center of Ljubljana

After a successful performance of Ljubljana wine route in this summer – Summer wine spoils, we are going to prepare the 15th St. Martin's Saturday in Ljubljana. Two Ljubljana wine routes – St. Martin's Saturday in Ljubljana, which are this year proceeding as a part of the project November Gourmet Ljubljana, are going to take place on the 4th and the 11th of November 2017, between 10 am and 5 pm. Around 160 providers (approximately 90 on the first Saturday and 70 on the second) of top Slovene wine and cuisine are going to be presented and accompanied by rich cultural programme.

This year the event is spreading from the traditional locations (Stritar Street and Town Square) on Prešeren square and chosen streets of Ljubljana that are nearby (Prešeren Square, Wolf Street, Miklošič Street and Nazor Street), which are going to form the whole event. As every year the caterers from Ljubljana and providers from the project Taste Ljubljana (Okusi Ljubljane) are going to join winemakers and chefs from the whole Slovenia. It is also appropriate for St. Martin's Saturday that the varied wine offer is lightened up by young wines. Project »Pubec« will offer to the visitors numerous young wines made by Styrian winemakers.

The grand opening of Ljubljana wine route will be traditionally placed in front of the City hall, where the director of the event Rado Stojanovič, representative of the City Municipality of Ljubljana and current Slovene wine queen Maja Žibert are going to welcome the visitors. The greeting will be accompanied by artistic programme. Right after the grand opening there will be an opening of architectural exhibition »Architecture and wine in central Europe« in the lobby of the City hall. The exhibition represents modern wine cellars in Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, Germany and northern Italy that are made by Czech architects Dan Mert and Jakub Fišer.

During both St. Martin's Saturdays the visitors will be able to see numerous cultural performances that are going to be prepared by performers from the whole country. Performances are going to take place each hour throughout the day on three scenes: Nazor Street – at Ajdovščina, Stritar Street – at Tromostovje, City Square, Prešeren square. Besides varied cultural programme there is a special surprise for the visitors – restaurant Druga violina will ascend a wine treasure from river Ljubljanica, which has been kept there since Summer wine spoils.

This year Ljubljana wine routes are going to link cooperative hotels, merchants, bars, restaurants and winemakers and are going to offer autumnally coloured delight to the visitors. Special emphasis will be on Nazor Street. Together with cooperative hotels Grand hotel Union and Hotel Slon we are trying to connect the providers from Nazor Street and to present that to the visitors as (wine-culinary) streets of Ljubljana, where there is always something going on.
