JUBLJANA WINE ROUTE IS COMING TO THE CITY CENTRE

That time of the year is approaching again, when in the traditional Slovenian folclore the must turns into wine and the streets of the old town centre of Slovenia’s capital are dominated by joy, flavors of local cuisine and wines from all parts of Slovenia. The Ljubljana Wine Route will traditionally take place in the streets and squares of old Ljubljana, on St. Martin’s Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

WINEMAKERS FROM ALL OF SLOVENIA

In a true St. Martin’s experience, the wine route will spread across Prešeren’s Square, Mestni Square, Stritarjeva Street, Cankarjev Embankment (Cankarjevo nabrežje) and between a total of 70 stalls, among which there will be 50 local top winemakers, 2 foreign ones, 8 culinary providers and other providers of information and experiences for visitors. Visitors will be able to choose from more than 450 different wine samples for tasting from local winemakers from all wine-growing regions of Slovenia.

CULINARY

Culinary delights will be provided with oils from Oljarna Kolarič, truffles delicacies from Fogy-Tartufi and Istra Tartufi Šavle, sweet secrets from the choccolate shop Cukrček and Waffle To Go and MasterWaffle Slo, home-made meats from the Soud farm, Memon ham, excellent cheeses from the Gartner Bohinj cheese factory, honey delicacies and with Sedlak Beekeeping wine, and refreshments for adults and children will be provided at the Bubble Tea stand.

RICH CULTURAL PROGRAMME

Many cultural performances by the members of the Orchestra of Accordionists from the Bučar Music School, Tine Rožanc’s Folklore Group and the Deseti Brat octet, the Rakek Pensioners’ Association (the Frajle dance group), the children of The Artifex dance school and the wine queens will ensure that the event at Martinovanje in Ljubljana will be a real Slovenian cultural experience, which cannot be overlooked in the middle of all happening.
